2 C basmati rice
1 T oil
1 T cumin seeds
1 T khuskhus (Punjabi sesame seeds)
3 - cinnamon sticks
1 - medium one, chopped fine
1 C frozen green peas
2 - green chiles
2 - Roma tomatoes
0 - salt
1 1/2 t turmeric
4 C water
Wash the rice and drain the water. Set it aside for at least 15 minutes.
In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds, khuskhus and cinnamon sticks. Add onion and allow to fry until the onions are cooked. Add the peas and chillies and continue to cook over medium heat.
Add the washed rice and stir fry for 2 minutes; then add the tomatoes, salt, and turmeric and stir fry for 2 minutes more.
Add water, bring to boil and then reduce heat and simmer until the rice is fully cooked.
